Neha Dhupia Spills The Beans On Being Trolled When It Comes To Post Pregnancy Body Image
Neha Dhupia has been blatantly vocal about several topics that have been bothering women in society. Time and again, the actress has put her foot down by staying true to her point without being biased. However, she too was not spared on several instances such as body shaming, running out of work during her pregnancy phase and much more. Mother to a one-year-old Mehr Dhupia Bedi, the actress in conversation with an entertainment portal, opened up on uncomforting truth of the entertainment business.

The actress in her conversation with Pinkvilla revealed how she was taken by surprise when a female journalist commented on her post-pregnancy weight. Moving on to her work aspect, the actress believes in not waiting for work to be presented to you, but rather exploring new spectrums to make your mark. She said, “Firstly, I believe that you cannot wait for work to come to you. We all have our platforms today and we all have shops.” Adding further she shared though before she became a mother, her last release Tumhari Sulu, had bestowed with an award, despite that, film offers didn’t come her way for several reasons. “Secondly, when you become a mum, yes, there is a perception. The last thing I did before pregnancy was Tumhari Sulu, for which I won an award. But despite that, I did not get any offers as far as movies are concerned, post-pregnancy. I did not get any offers after I gave birth either. Now, I am in talks for a web show, so let's see about that," she added.

After delivering Mehr, the actress also faced solid criticism for her bodyweight that affected her the most.

Adding further she said, “I did not have insecurity when I was pregnant. I started facing body image issues was after I gave birth. I am not saying that people need to lose weight, being perfect is everyone's own version. But, what happens mentally is that everything acts up together. I remember I was trolled very badly where a female journalist wrote something on my weight, and I wrote back. It is not fair to trouble a new mum over her body weight.”
